It was one my son bought from his butcher at christmas. It was so pale pink & delicious. I think it was cured by the Burrengong abbatoirs in Young, NSW Australia. I have never tasted better before or since.
my dad tops his off with brown sugar and pineapple. even though i am not a pineapple fan i will eat the ham still cuz the pinapple adds a really great flavor.
I buy a spiral cut ham ,
then mix 1 jar of mango chutney and 1 cup of mixed dried fruit
spread over the ham and cook covered about 250 deg F for 3-4 hours
Remove cover and baste for the last 45 minutes
Vernor’s ginger ale. Put pineapple on the ham and pour Vernor’s over. Bake it like you normally would and baste with the ginger ale. May sound strange, but it’s really good.
I have no idea what my mother does but it’s delicious always. it’s usually cooked in the microwave for a while and when it’s finished it’s soft, juicy, and pink (we all know what you’re thinking. shut up). and it’s usually served with apple sauce.
Honestly, the best ham I’ve ever had is when we get a ham on the bone for Christmas, cut off thick pieces, and just grill it on the BBQ. YUM! (Use a little bit of vege oil for nonstick-ness, and pore a little bit of your favourite beer over it while you’re cooking it). ;-P
Smoked and glazed ham is orgasmic. My mom makes it for Thanksgiving.
And hey, if you think your grandmother has good cooking skills, ask her for some tips. Every good grandmother has a great recipe encyclopedia programed in their brain. :]

You can never go with a Honey Baked Ham.
